New DelhiIn light of the escalating tensions in the Middle East, India has sent out a warning to its citizens in Israel, urging them to exercise caution and adhere to safety regulations.
Additionally, Indian nationals were advised not to travel to Israel for non-essential purposes. The Ministry of External Affairs stated, "All Indian nationals currently in Israel are advised to remain vigilant and strictly adhere to the safety guidelines and protocols issued by the Israeli authorities and the Home Front Command in light of the prevailing situation in the region."
Additionally, Indian nationals were cautioned against visiting Israel for any non-essential purposes. They have been instructed to call the Embassy of India's 24-hour helpline at +972 54 7520711 and +972 54 3278392 in the event of an emergency.
The United States has not ruled out interference or military action, and the advisory is issued in the midst of widespread protests in Iran. Iran has cautioned that in the event of an American attack, US military installations in the area would be legitimate targets. Concerns have also surfaced in Tel Aviv, a significant regional rival of Tehran, against this backdrop of increased tensions.
Israel increases securityAs a precaution, public shelters have been ordered to open in several parts of southern and central Israel, according to local media reports. The mayor of Dimona, in southern Israel, ordered the opening of shelters throughout the city, stating that it was better to be ready than to be caught off guard, according to Turkey's Anadolu Agency.
Due to the worsening situation in Iran, India is also getting ready to evacuate its citizens, which coincides with the advisory for Israel.
In light of the changing circumstances, the Indian embassy in Tehran earlier on Wednesday released a new advisory urging Indian nationals in Iran, including students, pilgrims, businesspeople, and tourists, to depart the country by any available means of transportation, including commercial flights.
