New DelhiThe 17-man team for Cricket Australia's impending tour of Pakistan was recently revealed. Prior to the T20 World Cup, which is scheduled to begin on February 7, the Men in Yellow will face Pakistan in three Twenty20 International matches.
The dates of the three Twenty20 Internationals are January 29, January 31, and February 1. Australia named Mahli Beardman and Jack Edwards, but omitted players like Nathan Ellis as the series approached.
It is noteworthy that due to their outstanding performances in the current BBL (Big Bash League) season, Beardman and Edwards were both called up to the T20I squads. Ten players from Australia's T20 World Cup team will continue to play in the Pakistan series. Notably, players participating in the BBL season will join the Pakistani team after the competition is over.
George Bailey shared his opinions about the team.George Bailey, the chair of selectors for Cricket Australia, spoke up during the squad announcement to share his thoughts on the team's makeup.
According to Bailey, "the series is a great opportunity for those on the brink of selection and some young players we rate highly for valuable experience with the World Cup group in Pakistan," ESPNcricinfo reported.
"Mahli Beardman, who has been with the group several times, and Jack Edwards, who joined for the final one-day match against India in Sydney last year, are already experienced international players," he continued.
