New Delhi:Matka King is officially back for a second season after a strong response to Season 1. The series, against the background of the fast-changing world of 1960s Bombay, struck a chord with viewers with its intense story of ambition, power and identity, powered by layered performances and immersive storytelling.

Vijay Varma’s Matka King has been renewed for season 2. The series is now streaming on Prime Video. Vijay was teased with a new poster of the second season and he was seen with a pile of cards.
And if the ending of Season 1 was anything to go by, this is it: the game of Matka is far from over. Brij Bhatti’s grip on the world he created remains very much in place, and Season 2 promises to raise the stakes even higher.

Nagraj Popatrao Manjule was the creator, writer and director of Matka King. Abhay Koranne was the creator and writer. The first season was produced by Siddharth Roy Kapur, Nagraj Popatrao Manjule, Gargi Kulkarni, Ashwini Sidwani and Ashish Aryan under the banners of Roy Kapur Films, Aatpat and SMR Entertainment.
The eight-episode drama starred Vijay Varma in lead role and was supported by Kritika Kamra, Sai Tamhankar, Siddharth Jadhav, Bhupendra Jadawat and Gulshan Grover in pivotal roles. The ensemble cast also included Bharat Jadhav, Girish Kulkarni, Jamie Lever, Kishor Kadam, Cyrus Sahukar, Arpita Sethiya, Sambhaji Tangade, Ishtiyak Khan, Sanjivv Jotangia and Simran Ashwini, who all added texture and authenticity to the story.
