Saif Ali Khan on Kartavya
"Saif Ali Khan said about the film, "Pawan is a guy who is always negotiating with himself between what he thinks is right, what is expected of him and what he has to protect. What I liked about Kartavya is that it does not offer easy answers. It puts you in uncomfortable places and makes you ask yourself what you would do when every choice comes at a personal price. Working with Pulkit and the entire cast has made this journey even more compelling and thrilling. Working with Red Chillies Entertainment for the first time on a project as layered as Kartavya has been really exciting. We can’t wait for people all over the world to see this story on Netflix.”
Director Pulkit said, “Kartavya is a story that is set in the grey areas of morality. Kartavya is a story that lives in the grey where every decision has a cost and certainty is forever a slippery thing. "We wanted to tell a story that is emotionally-based and goes beyond the crime to the human conflict at the heart of it." All the actors invest their characters with so much depth, and with Saif bringing incredible restraint to a deeply conflicted role, the film makes you think about what justice really means when the personal stakes are involved. “My second collaboration with Red Chillies Entertainment and Netflix has been so fulfilling and we are excited to bring this story to audiences across the world.”
